Conduct of a project
|
|
|
The development of a collaborative project as applied here is made up of seven main stages, following a classic pattern.
- Getting in touch
- Preliminary meeting
- Preparation
- Photoshoot
- Photo selection
- Finalizing the photos
- Release
Contact
Initial contact (by email, photography site or social networks) provides the theme(s) proposed for the collaboration.

In the case of a first collaboration, a meeting is organised.
Preliminary meeting
The meeting prior to a first collaboration allows to:
- Take into account the human dimension: whether on the model side to judge the photographer, or as a photographer to see the person naturally, outside of any photographic artifice.
- Clarify the theme and the organization of the shooting that is planned, and decide what to do next.
Preparation
Preparation for the photoshoot includes:
- Choosing and identifying a location (indoors or outdoors)
- Purchase or rental of necessary outfits and accessories
- Reservation of services (shooting locations, transport, etc.)
Photoshoot
The session consists of one or more series of photos with an objective to obtain a desired image in each series.
A collaboration contract is signed between photographer and model.
Photo selection
Once the shooting is over, photos to be retained are selected between the photographer and the model, keeping only the one that stands out in each series and thus deserves to be finalized.
Experience shows that if there can sometimes be up to two or three pictures to retain in a series, beyond that it is a question of variants bringing nothing more, except in extremely rare cases.
The total number of photos in a session obviously depends on the number of series produced and therefore also on the duration of the photoshoot.
Finalizing photos
The finalization of the photos is done in two phases:
Correcting: this is the extension of the shot.
- It consists in optimizing the way in which the photo was taken (colors, luminosity, framing, ...) without modifying the nature of what was photographed .
- It may fix what was forgotten during the shot (such as an element of the decor that should have been removed) or was ot sufficiently highlighted (by make-up, lighting, etc.)
Retouching: this is the modification of what has been photographed.
- It transforms what could not be created during the shooting (visual effects, special effects,...) within the framework of a composition.
Release
The validated and finalized photos are submitted by the photographer in a standard format (jpg) with High Resolution.
They can then be published (photo books, social networks, etc.) for non-commercial purposes (or by referring to the contract in the opposite case).
